This is the third and final fashion film I shot that was directd by Dean Freeman in LA late last year (this one in Malibu right on Pacific Coast Highway - 101). Edit by Darren Baldwin at Final Cut, beautiful grade by Rushes, London.
Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 9:43PM This is a spoof cinema commercial that I shot whilst in Venice on another job.
I Directed/shot/edited/graded/sound mixed the film and co-wrote the script.
Huge thanks to the absolutely amazing impressionist Pete Walsh who did the voice and co wrote the script with me. Many thanks also to the razor sharp Dr. Andrew Hempleman for the initial VO idea.

Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 6:15PM This are two new films I recently shot and edited for Pursuit Communications and their client BMW. These pieces showcase award winning BMW Dealership, Bavarian and Innovative Modern Retailing proponents, Elms.
Shot on my moire modified 5DMKII, lit by my Kino Flo Diva's, edit, colour grade and mix in Media Composer HD.
Please watch this in full frame mode - the resolution is much higher.

Many thanks to Josh Fry for excellent assistance and 7D work.
Here are 4 shots from the film which I am in the process of shooting and edting still..
The final film will be premiered in a preview theatre in Soho early 2012.

A fashion short film I shot for Director Dean Freeman in LA in October this year - I love the light in Malibu ! Editor Darren Baldwin at Final Cut, grade by Rushes, London.
Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 12:50PM Just received my Mosaic Anti Aliasing/Moire filter this morning. This product is a revolution. We all love the 5D film look, short depth of field charactersitics, great super fast L lenses and form factor. Uptil now Moire and Aliasing occasionaly reared their ugly heads - not an issue unique to the 5D - the brilliant £20k Sony F3 has some moire issues of it's own.
This product seems to perform a miracle, greatly improving the perceived resolution and Moire/Aliasing evident in the standard 5D. This product will bring great benefits to my future 5D projects.
Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 3:44PM Recently shot this for Peacock Design and Decca. Using my two 5D's in the iconic Metropolis Studios building in West London. Joe recorded this vocal live as we shot - he has a very powerful voice in the flesh ! Edit and Grade courtesy of David Meyer.
Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 12:36PM Here is the latest reel for fashion/reportage Director Dean Freeman, I shot all the footage in it and cut the reel.
Friday, July 22, 2011 at 3:27PM I shot this 90 second stream of consciousness film when I was recently in New York City. Filmed on the 5DMKII with the Canon 24 - 105mm L Zoom & Canon 35mm f1.4 L prime lenses.
You can watch a larger HD version here.
Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 8:56AM I shot/edited this piece for break through artist Pierre Lewis. The film documents a slice of the run up to the release of Pierre's EP 'Transition' in Summer 2011.
You can see the film larger here.

Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 7:00PM Here is a film I made for top business communications consultancy Pursuit Communications and their client BMW.
Shot on the 5D with 35mm f1.4 and 24 - 105mm zoom. This is a great lens combination that enables you to get a good range of wide and cu framings in daylight, matched with the amazing low light/short depth of field characteristics of the super fast Canon 35mm f1.4 L series prime using an ND filter or increasing the shutter speed.
Grabbed some cheeky inflight shots to go with this film whilst on another job ! Always working it!
Cut, graded and sound mixed in HD Avid Media Composer 5.1.2.

Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 4:12PM Here are some frames from the rushes of the British Polo Day shoot I did in Dubai for super hard working company Pendragon Productions (@pendragonpro).
Fascinating to see the tallest building on the planet close up and to get an inside view of the rarified world of the Polo/socialite set.
Never drunk so much water in my life - it was hot ! Also never shot at f22 on the 5DMKII before - it was so bright ! Luckily I was packing the VariND's.
Try getting this shot above with a conventional HD camera ! You wouldn't bother even powering it up !

Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 6:51PM Just completed post production on a series of HD films that I shot for a the highly influential management team at Pursuit Communications and their client BMW. The films were shot on my two 5DMII's and will be presented in Beijing. Editing was performed in my HD Avid suite with colour correction in Apple Color.

Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 2:29PM Here are two excerpts from the documentary I shot (2nd Camera Brett Turnbull on the second clip) and edited for JLS to accompany their concert film that was released on BluRay. At the helm was Executive Producer Robin Wilson from Icy Calm Films.
The DVD spent over 10 weeks in the top five on the BBC Music DVD chart over the peak Christmas period, making it the second biggest selling Music DVD of 2010.
The lads are currently working on a 3D concert film to be released in cinemas in the summer - they never stop !

Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10:28AM A quick update for the blog.. here's a production still of me getting up close and arty with some Polo sticks and balls in Dubai last Friday with the Pendragon crew.
Keep posted for more from this shoot.
Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 1:35PM Newest fashion film from Director Dean Freeman. I shot and edited this piece for Dean, Dual 5D's, Steadicam Merlin, Glidetrack, Shoulder Mount, Hand Held, Tripod - the whole Nine Yards.
Working with available light for all setups apart from Boudoir and Bath. Inspired audio track - a piece by Mi Mujer.
Works well I think ! More shots from the film: (Click for enlarged view).
